Oh my goodness! I like the composition with the car filling the picture plane at an interesting angle. Yes, i know...it's not your composition. But you are the one who has used your value changes to bring this beauty forward towards the viewer from off of the page. Once again your proportions are spot on, and you absolutely nailed the foreshortening. Again, it just about jumps off the page! You also nailed the lines and character of the Porsche 917. You have a gorgeous full range of values here. Your technique in the use of value changes to show the planes and contours of the body is top drawer. I have no idea which passage of value changes i like the best! Certainly the treatment of the window glass over the interior should be mentioned...instantly believable. And those headlamp assemblies are exquisite! It's a beautiful piece of automotive art work, Lyle! And it's a very strong piece of work, too!
I appreciate that Dan. When I ran across this I was instantly motivated. What was originally on the board was immediately shelved. I've learned that inspiration really helps when it comes to art. Well, I guess it helps with just about anything when you get down to it.
