Dug this one out from days gone by. A friend of mine won the track championship driving this race car. I gave the drawing to him. I used colored pencil, markers and a little graphite. Sorry for the poor scan and size.
Yeah the are sweet. Sprintcars are my favorite racing machine to watch and drive. Do you have any tips on coloring with colored pencil because I have some drawings that I want to color but I need to know what would be the color for Michael Jordans skin tone?
It's best if you don't use anymore than three colors to achieve the tone you want. I'd get a piece of scratch paper, a photo ref of Michael and just experiment with layering 2-3 colors. It's trial and error really and to be honest, I don't know the name of most of the colors I use. I just go by eye. Lay down a light color of what you think would close to the skin tone. Then lay down the next darker color to achieve depth. You could also have a color darker than the second layer as well. Hope this helps.
Thanks I am going to try that. Your drawings look good in colored pencil. Have you ever tried coloring in felt-tip pens? Cause if you go on my page and go to the Allen Iverson drawing or LeBron James drawing they were done in felt-tip pens and it turned out great.
Sweet! Yep, I've worked with felt tips a little. Well...more like prismacolor markers. I've never done an entire drawing with markers alone though. Have to give it a whirl sometime.
I've used them a little to but I have not done a full drawing. I'm going to try to get some of my drawings on here so u can see my drawings. There okay but there not as good as yours.
