Off the chocks, there were few planes that could get up faster (20,000ft/min)
A good piece of history for us, and Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia oddly enough. The Kuwaiti ones were sold as ground attack aircraft if you can believe it - a Mach 2 fighter with funderwing and overwing rocket pods plus cannons... it was mental stuff - here is a picture that has always fascinated me: [link]
