I was hesitant about posting this one. I guess it's good to let one's guard down now and then and eat a little humble pie!LOL I had a hard time keeping my heart in this one. I got really bored with it but it was for a good cause. It was drawn as a fund raiser for out little country church so I had to keep remembering that fact.
Excellent work! I like all the detailing you did in he surrounding vegetation also, it kinda draws the attention of the eye from the main subject, but it's a satisfying piece to look at!
I can understand what you mean about getting bored with it. A lot of times this happens to me, especially when I'm doing commissions which have nothing to do with what I like, so upon being briefed about a commission from the client I always try to "pursuade" them to a more suitable subject, or style to my own likings hehehe Doesn't always work right, but when it does it feels that I've double landed on the achievement

I just love the roar of a V8 in the morning! and in the night too!
Ohhhh stop Lyle, you were hesitant??? this is such wonderful work. It looked like a photo in the thumb before I clicked on it. Great blending in tones the contrast is so believable in realism. It is super hot and your work in landscaping is just as great as your aircraft and autos.
At first I thought it was a photo, too. So you see you did a great job with it! Getting bored with pictures is something that happens to me every day That's why I always draw more than one picture, so I can switch
It looks great Lyle. Nothing to be ashamed about. The composition works very well with the barn roof touching the sky and the lower part of the barn well rooted in the surrounding landscape. Bushes and grass are a pain to do in pencil but you have pulled it off fairly well I think.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
